August 2023
Dallas Central Appraisal District informal hearings generated an estimated property tax savings of $342 million. Formal hearings with the Appraisal Review Board generated an additional tax savings of approximately $271 million, bringing the total tax savings to around $613 million for 2021.

The Dallas Central Appraisal District yielded $10.9 billion in property tax assessment reductions at appraisal review board hearings. As a result, property owners in the county collectively realized close to $271 million in tax savings!

The Dallas Central Appraisal District states the total amount of value reduction achieved through the informal process in 2021 was $13.6 billion. That translates to around a $342 million tax savings for Dallas County property owners.

In Dallas County, 57,732 accounts were resolved informally and did not advance to the Appraisal Review Board in 2021. Of this number, 49,353 of the accounts, or 85% were settled with a reduction in value.
